All consultations are by appointment only. We do try and keep as close as possible to appointment times, however, there are instances when cases are longer and more complex than others and also the odd emergency presents itself which can increase waiting times. Whilst you are waiting for your appointment we have many leaflets, magazines and posters on display on a whole range of subjects and an array of items for sale for you to browse.
At our Truro branch we have a purpose built radiography suite designed especially for taking diagnostic x-rays of your pet. This includes a very high definition radiography machine and an automtic processor, meaning we can view your pets radiographs shortly after taking them.
We have a range of diagnostic equipment available at our Truro surgery which includes; Endoscopes, ECG machines and Pulse oximetry machines. We will soon be adding an ultrasound machine to our practice to provide a more complete service to our clients.
Our on site laboratory houses our blood machines, microscope and a whole array of equipment which can allow us to quickly run many tests that your pet may require. This includes hair and skin samples, blood samples, urine analysis, parasite anaylasis and faecle analysis. We also do send samples to an external lab for testing when we do not have the specialist equipment on site.
We have a dedicated dental suite at our Truro branch where we have our ultrasonic scaler and dental drill to assist with cleaning and the removal of teeth.
We have two purpose built surgical theatres which use a special air filtration system to allow us to ensure your pets procedure is as sterile as possbile. Both our theatres are fully equiped to allow us to carry out; routine, soft tissue, emergency and orthopaedic surgery.
Our new vet Sarah McIntosh is qualified to perform acupuncture on animals and offers this service to our clients at our Truro branch. We have seen briliiant results so far from this service and we're keen to promote it further.
The nurse clincs are usually carried out at our Truro practice, however you will occassioanlly find that one of our nurses will be at Perranporth or St.Agnes and will be happy to see your pet there instead for convenience. The clincs include:
The practice provides a 24 hour emergency service every day throughout the year. This service is carried out at the Truro vet practice due to the availability of equipment needed to treat your pet. Please ring our normal number and listen the to answer phone message that will give you the on call vets number.
We will always endeavour to provide you with up to date advice and information to your queries over the phone, however most clinical problems are better dealt with by bringing your pet to the practice.
Our staff will always be very happy to provide you with information or advice reguarding preventative healthcare, pre-op and post-op care, administering medications, bandage/dressing care, vaccination/worming and flea treatment, pet passports, training and behaviour
House visits can be arranged, however please be aware that there will be an extra charge for this on top of the consulatation fee and medication as required.
Surgical Procedures and In-Patient Care
All surgical procedures and in-patient care are carried out at the Truro premises. Transportation of your pet may possibly be arranged to and from out St.Agnes and Perranporth branches depending on which day of the week it is.
